Hoʻōla

Hoʻōla means to heal.  We have partnered with Mauliola Pharmacy, Hawaii Taro Farms, Hui No Ke Ola Pono, and Malama I Ke Ola to cultivate a space of healing.  We are currently caring for 2-acres of beautiful Waikapu and preparing this space for our community and cultural practitioners to learn and immerse themselves in a dedicated space to heal.  Lāʻau lapaʻau, or traditional medical practice, is what our island of Maui needs now more than ever.  In this space, our community can find and gather essential lāʻau for themselves and their families.

Cultural practitioners can share their knowledge and help foster a healer in every home.  A variety of plants used in lāʻau lapaʻau can be gathered and prepared at Hoʻōla free of cost.

Western Integration

Our sister organization, Mauliola Pharmacy, has the capabilities to prepare pharmaceutical-grade healing products using lāʻau gathered from Hoʻōla.  Tinctures, capsules, topicals, etc.  Contact us to learn more.

Sustainable Agriculture

Our mentor, Bobby Pahia, continues to guide us and offer insights on how to properly care for this space.  All of our farming practices at Hoʻōla support regenerative and sustainable agricultural practices.

Traditional Farming

Come and learn about traditional farming practices that can be implemented where you are, regardless of where you dwell on the island.
